On Saturday we went to Baldwin City to see Thomas the train. We talked about it all week and Mason seemed pretty excited. I even showed him pictures of some friends of ours who went the weekend before. We had decided ahead of time of time that we didn't want to pay the $18 (PER PERSON!) to ride the train but knew there were a lot of activities and things to see. We got there and Mason seemed excited to see Thomas UNTIL he started moving and blowing his (extremely loud) whistle. From that point on, he wanted nothing to do with Thomas or Sir Topham Hat. He liked playing with the train tables but didn't really want to do anything else - he didn't want a temporary tattoo or stamp and he didn't want to sit in the fire truck they had there. His favorite part of the day was riding on the shuttle to and from the event in the SCHOOL BUS! Oh well, he still talked about it the rest of the day:)
meeting Thomas...he was happy at this point

still happy for another few seconds until the blaring whistle blows

when Thomas came back from a ride, we tried going over to see him again - not a good decision - here is Mason reaching for Andy to get him the heck away!

his favorite part of the day:)
